The Women in STEM award is intended for low income families and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding tuition fees in Texas, for female students majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) whether at a 4 year or a 2 year college. Scholarships will be awarded for the fall semester and are $5,000 each. This scholarship is for students residing in Texas and applying for funding to study in Texas. Students currently in college or high school seniors may apply. Scholarships may be used for tuition and college-related expenses payable to the college. Funding will be sent directly to the college.
BAFTX was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit by the British American Business Council in 2006 as a beacon going forward into the future to help provide financial assistance and educational opportunities to academically gifted students in the United States and the United Kingdom who otherwise might not be able to pursue their education due to financial constraints.
