  • The Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation offers a variety of resources that can assist chapters and colonies, undergraduate members and alumni members. For our undergraduates, dozens of scholarships are offered on an annual basis; some for academic excellence, some for financial need, some for being a balanced student. The Foundation also offers assistance for undergraduates to attend leadership training, such as the Stead Leadership Seminar and the High Alpha Summit. ABDULGANIYY AWOTIDEBE March 25, 2020 My name is AbdulGaniyy Awotidebe. I am a student at Alief Hastings High School completing my high school diploma in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and I plan on attending a four-year college or university. My educational aspirations consist of acquiring an associate’s degree in electrical engineering that would assist me in pursuing my career as an engineer. On the other hand, my career vision is to one day be able to provide the operation of the power plant and other power utilities in the United States. However, I am certain that if I do not complete my college degree I could never have the opportunity to achieve my career goals. In other words, I think that pursuing such a career will provide me the opportunity to help achieve the career goals I want to attain. My unique opportunities and challenges through education have shaped me into who I am today because when I think about the future, I get overwhelmed. In my senior year at high school, I became certain that if I wanted to pursue a higher education I needed to be persistent and determined to achieve my career aspirations. However, I would not be at this level in my education without my mom's support. Without having my father's emotional and economical assistance, she has learned how to provide me with a decent quality of life. As a result, I search for scholarships and job opportunities that could contribute to the achievement of my college education and help pay for basic needs in our home. I also believe that being an immigrant made my decision to college more challenging. I immigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria when I was fourteen years old. Luckily I spoke English, even though my accent was different but I did not understand how the school system worked. I couldn't take some necessary which I wish I did. Therefore, when my senior year of high school arrived I did not understand the process of attending college. I did not know
