  • Team Type 1 offers scholarships in order to recognize young, talented athletes with Type 1 diabetes who demonstrate an ability to balance both academic and sporting commitments, promote good health with successful management of their diabetes through exercise, and support families already burdened with additional expenses associated with diabetes care. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, Type 1 diabetes, and be a competitive athlete in order to apply. They must also attend or plan to attend an accredited NCAA and NAIA institution and compete in a participating sport.For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

My name is Madison Carneiro and I have had Type One Diabetes since I was 8 years old. My dad has Type One as well. I am currently a senior at Milford High School in Massachusetts. I am a very active student. I was nominated as a senior captain for my field hockey team. I made the Varsity Field Hockey Team my freshman year and was a starter almost every game since. I am a hardworking student who has a 3.8 GPA and is involved in various extra-curricular activities. I am the president of my class, in Best Buddies, Peer Mentoring, student leadership, and lacrosse. If given the chance to receive this scholarship, I can use the funds to support my education to pursed the nursing field.

I am a type 1 diabetic, I am 18 years old and was diagnosed at the age of 2. I have played baseball since I was a little kid in t-ball and I am a captain of my schools basketball team, I am a senior in high school and this scholarship would mean a lot. I will use this scholarship to be able to go to college and help go into the nursing program at SCSU Or the University of Saint Joseph and I will use this money to help with my funds and display the best leadership I can in college. I have a 4.0 GPA and I am captain of my schools basketball team.

My name is Elica Cabadas, I was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of 6. It has been a struggle but never nothing I cannot handle, with the help of the new technology and dexcoms and insulin pumps I have been able to manage my bloodsugars and A1C more. I intend to attend college and major in buisness to begin my own online shop. With the help of this scholarship I will be able to move forward and achieve my academic goals. I have a 3.2 gpa and I am also a first generation college student.

I am also type 1 diabetic, I played volleyball in my last school, I plan to attend Moreno Valley College to become an EMT to help others that need help in emergencies and those that also have disabilities and conditions.

Yes. I have Type 1 Diabetes. I am in the gifted program and I plan to attend a college. I can use the funds to help pay for my college fees.
