- Scholarship Description
The Outstanding Filipino Youth Awards was established in 1990 by the Philippine National Day Association (PNDA) as a recognition program. PNDA believes that the accomplishments of the young individual is not only a personal achievement but a contribution that advances the whole community. Through this program, PNDA recognizes our youth for their contributions, raising them up as role models to their peers.
The first scholarship was awarded in 1999. PNDA believes that an educated community is an empowered community. The OFYA Scholarship program was established to support the education of our youth–education that is critical in preparing them for their future and the community’s future. 12th grade students with a minimum of 3.0 GPA and are of Filipino descent are strongly encouraged to apply. There is a separate scholarship program for 8th grade students as well. Applicants must be attending school in Northern California.
