Womanspace Scholarship

• Scholarship Description
• To be eligible for the Womanspace Scholarship, applicants must: be a resident of Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson or Ogle County; be a graduating high school senior; have a 3.0 GPA; have a chosen academic field of study in fine arts (includes: visual arts, such as drawing, sculpting, painting, music, dance, theater, or architecture); and fulfill all requirements of the application process. Children and grandchildren of Womanspace employees, board members and scholarship selection committee are ineligible.

  Criteria for award selection are: academic achievements that indicate a high potential for success in post-secondary education (includes review of transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, scholastic achievements and awards); level of involvement in school and/or community activities that indicates engagement and leadership; a completed description of projected financial expenses and resources; a submission of at least two recommendation letters (at least one must be from a teacher from an area of discipline outlined in the application criteria); and the strength of the essay that accompanies this application.
