Scholarship Description
IDISCY offers an annual scholarship of $5,250 ($2,625/semester) for individuals who have a qualifying diagnosis. To be eligible, applicant must: Be currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university in the United States; Be a citizen of the United States; Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 un-weighted scale; and Have a qualifying diagnosis.
Application Requirements: A copy of current transcripts from college, university, or high school; Diagnosis Verification Form, which must be completed by a licensed primary physician; A 500-1000 word essay on the following topic: "How has living with _______ affected your life?" "What are your current goals and aspirations?" "How have you overcome challenges to achieve them?" "Where do you see yourself in 5, 10, or 15 years, and what steps are you taking to achieve your vision?" (Note: "_______" represents the specific disability being discussed.)
Terms & Conditions: Open only to undergraduate and postgraduate students at accredited colleges/universities in the United States; Award recipients must be enrolled as full-time students for the academic year; Winners will be determined by an impartial IDISCY Foundation Review Committee, and the decision is final. The selection will be based on the essay and scholarship requirements; We do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected status; Students who are not accepted are encouraged to apply again for the following year; All scholarship payments will be made directly to the student to be used for education-related expenses.; The IDISCY Foundation may withhold or revoke the award if a winner no longer meets or maintains the eligibility requirements.
