  • For the past two years, The Vicki Soto Memorial Scholarship has given out a yearly $5,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from our local high schools. Vicki Soto is a true hero, who sacrificed her life in the most heroic manner. This year we're expanding our outreach - if you are a graduating senior anywhere in the United States you can apply. Applicants must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year high school, have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA throughout the school year and be enrolled in a fully accredited secondary school, attend classes and carry the minimum number of credit hours necessary to be a full-time student as defined by the student's high school's registrar. Applicant must be intending to pursue a career in the field of education at an accredited college. For more information, or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

Hello! My name is Sophie Miller, I am currently a full-time student in high school. I live on a beautiful tropical island called Okinawa in Japan. I attend DoDEA district school on a military base getting ready to graduate. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA first semester and have an above 3.5 GPA currently in the second semester. My dream is to become an Air Traffic Controller in the aviation tower, for all my wishes are to come true, I got admitted to Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida. I am very excited to learn and be trained to become an Air Traffic Con stroller. I would love to have the opportunity to win this scholarship to use it towards education!
